The transition period for the UK leaving the EU will come to an end on 31st December 2020 and whilst the UK government has failed to get the UK Parliament’s agreement to its proposed deal to leave the EU, there continues to be a risk of the UK leaving the EU with no deal transition. Whilst negotiations between the UK government and the EU remain ongoing, regardless of the outcome the changes will affect many areas, especially food supply chains entering and leaving the UK from 1st January 2021 onwards.
Foodservice Options (FSO) together with all of our Food & Non-Food suppliers continue to monitor the situation closely and are working hard to build and protect stock levels that will ensure we continue to service all of our schools to the usual high standards with the minimum of disruption. All users of our frameworks also have the assurance that all of our supply agreements are professionally managed by a wide range of suppliers who are highly experienced in servicing the educational sector. This offers stability & continuity of supply with the added benefit of fixed pricing periods, therefore giving schools the assurance of pricing stability (which is of paramount importance in the current climate).
Whilst we wait for the outcome of the Brexit negotiations, please be assured that all of the team at FSO will do everything possible to make the Brexit transition as smooth as possible for every single school we supply.
